Re: Calamus and 69ron's Tek

Well I think this guy describes the good attitude, that's what I find precious in his text. The synergy of calamus and edit is quite interesting. The effects of calamus are boosted, so you feel them more easyly, and the effects of *edit* is altered. So calamus is easier to get as it is stronger, and...

Re: Calamus and 69ron's Tek

Well. I've been chewing calamus for years now, prolly the plant I use the most. Quality varies wildly, freshness and storage conditions are VERY important. I use two kinds, the one I get from a good herborist, and the one I grow myself, that is fresh. Both are good. The fresh one is of course strong...

Re: entheogenic theories review (acacia)

I agree. In fact if see entheogen use in most cultures. Sometimes it is something we consider weak by out standards (ex: myrrh, juniper), but you can have full blown altered state with meditation techs, so if you add a psychoactive, even weak, to that, imagine the synergy. It's just that it is not v...

Re: an active entheogen brewed from ergot infected rye?

Excuse my english in advance. I live in France, and due to events you prolly heard about, I'm thinking a lot right know, and it is hard to concentrate. I think focusing on Eleusis is an error. Let me explain. The reason why there is so much emphasis on the mysteries of Eleusis is that Eleusis was At...

Re: an active entheogen brewed from ergot infected rye?

Hey! For some reason a famous online book store just recommanded me another Ruck book about Eleusis. Call it fate... It seems that he revised his theory, and in this 2006 work thinks that we're talking psylo and aminata, not ergot. The book is "Sacred Mushrooms Of The Goddess and The Secrets of Eleu...

Re: entheogenic theories review (acacia)

Well it is true that that both acatia nilotica and peganum harmal were both available to the ancients... so why not ! On the other hand, the existence of a source does not imply that this source was used since the old times. Look at the DMT en 5MEODMT containing phramites or phalaris. But it is not ...

Re: an active entheogen brewed from ergot infected rye?

This is not the place for such a debate, you're right. If you want to keep talking about that without "polluting" the thread just PM me. I'll just answer the two points you adressed. - Alcibiades was accused of profaning the mysteries. Only the authors you mention say that, in the context of their h...

Re: an active entheogen brewed from ergot infected rye?

Hi. The very fact that Eleusis initiation involved a psychoactive ingredient is itself a mere speculation. My point is that the whole context points to another kind of way to reach altered states of consciousness. The deities involved are all from the Underworld, the kukeon composition itself points...

Re: Mullein/Verbascum thapsus narcotic ?

Well I have stuffed nose and sinus all the time because of a chronic inflammatory problem, and smoking mullein just leave me with my throat hammered. Talking about flowers here, not leaves.
The tea on the other hand is good.

Re: Monkshood (Aconitum Napellus)

I remember being intrigued by aconitum because it appears in salve recipes. I never knew what effects to expect from it and at what dosage. Everybody "knows" about it "toxicity". But what is not toxic at the right dosage ? I know people who can dose amanite phalloides or digitalis pupurea, so I gues...
