Local Events -

Post by NeoNaut » Wed Feb 28, 2007 3:25 pm

This is a thread that I might sticky if anyone else thinks it's a good idea. People should post all local events for the coming weeks. When events expire and you have new events just edit/update your previous post. This will keep the posts down and allow easy browsing. We dont want 20 pages of expired events. Just thought the lurkers and others who are less vocal about their locale, might like to see events in there neck of the woods. It can be concerts, festivals, lectures...etc...

Here is mine for this week, I will be working the door on the late night if anyone wants to introduce themselves, or just come out and support Opulent Temples soundcamp this year. All of my events I post in this thread will be for San Francisco, and the surrounding bay area.

and at the end of the month.....

Ralph will present an introduction to his Alchemical Divination® process
focusing on the Janus Process--a new model of consciousness transformation
for working with memory and visioning. (The Roman deity Janus was the god of
doorways and passageways, hence transitions and initiations.) Silvia will
present on her Magic Chant work. 6:30 to 9:30 pm, in Emeryville, CA, at the
Loft of the Vox Mundi Project. $20, RSVP required voxmundi(at)yahoo(dot)com. For
more information, see

The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival
June 22,23, & 24
The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival promotes "conscious" music. Conscious music is music with a message of peace, unity and brotherhood, which transcends the divisions of race and culture.

Over the past Thirteen years we have endeavored to build a community where Conscious music, Roots music, World music is embraced. Where bringing diverse people from many lands together in celebration yields more than just the sum of each individual present, but something much grander. At SNWMF people experience a unique sense of unity and belonging, a semi-utopian moment in time where love, generosity, joy and innocence can be reclaimed. We believe that music has the power to move mountains and change paradigms, and the phenomenal artists who have graced SNWMF stages over the past decade have imparted an overwhelmingly Positive force

High Sierra Music Fest
July 5, 6, 7, & 8.

An intimate yet first-rate festival nestled in Northern California's majestic mountain range, the High Sierra Music Festival is a unique four-day music and camping festival that features an eclectic and boldly creative span of music from acoustic singer-songwriters and down-home bluegrass to high-energy funk and skillfully improvised jazz, rock and live electronica. Held in Quincy, CA and celebrating its 16th year, High Sierra launched as a roots-oriented festival with 20 artists on one main stage and has since evolved into to a 10,000 person event with nearly 80 performers on five day-time stages and five late-night venues. The Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy provide on-site infrastructure with opportunities to swim, bike, fish, golf and hike in the vicinity of a quaint mountain town.
